Our work spans through the interconnected of three intentions

Building Communities
ELICIT cultivates networks of champions for education as a response to violence, polarity and trauma. Through these relationships, we build education, empathy and narratives for healing and resilience.

Our community-building aims at making:
-
Teachers as facilitators of safety in their classrooms
-
Friendships between children across conflict regions
-
Student leaders who mobilise resources for conflict-affected peers
-
Donor-partners who contribute beyond finance

Building Knowledge
ELICIT makes knowledge of trauma and Healing Centered Education accessible, open source and actionable for schools, organisations and communities in conflict-impacted territories and beyond.

Our knowledge-building activities include:
-
Deepening understanding of how protracted conflict shapes experiences of students, teachers and school systems
-
Generating insights on collective trauma caused by protracted violence
-
Analysing how trauma-informed pedagogy in mainstream schools can meaningfully respond to these challenges
Building Discourse
ELICIT curates and facilitates conversations on Context Responsive Pedagogy, Healing Centred education, Collective trauma and its effects on behaviours and systems in Conflict-affected regions. These are scaffolded by conversations on recurring thematics of privilege, butterfly effect and the politics of one’s choices.
Our discourse-building happens through:
-
Collective Conversations on Conflict (CCC) - open house, event-based meetups that allow interactive ways of triggering new cultures led by empathy and a pool of like minded people in support of investment in SDGs 3,4,10,16
-
Academic dialogue on conflict-responsive education
-
Creating comic books that make complex concepts accessible
-
Designing games that explore healing and resilience themes for donors, teachers, children and invested leaders
